Compare the same coffee, or coffees you would drink alike. Example prices are illustrative, not live offers. Use one currency for every price; there is no exchange conversion.

How the calculation works

Price per kg = price ÷ (grams ÷ 1,000); saving = 1 − cheaper price per kg ÷ dearer price per kg

A worked example

A 1 kg bag at €13.99 costs €13.99 per kg; a 250 g bag at €4.99 costs €19.96 per kg. Pack A, 30% less per kg: €5.97 saved on every kilo.

When the small pack wins

Offers and multipacks of small bags can undercut a large one. Weight the two per kilo, not per pack: a 500 g bag on offer can beat a kilo at the regular price.

Freshness has a price too

Opened coffee loses aroma within weeks. A kilo is only cheaper if you drink it while it is good; a smaller bag costs more per kilo but less in waste.

Common questions

Is a 1 kg bag always cheaper than 250 g?

Usually per kilo, not always: compare both on the same unit. This tool and every catalog page here rank by price per kg.

Does it work for instant coffee?

Yes. Enter the jar weights in grams: 200 g is 200, a 7 oz jar about 198.

Method: arithmetic from the label values you enter. Reviewed .
